Feed Production Project RFQ

Define your feed mill or aquafeed plant project before you ask for quotations

This request is for owners building, expanding or modernising feed production capacity — compound feed mills, aquafeed extrusion lines, premix and concentrate plants. It captures throughput, process scope, utilities, automation and budget so independent suppliers quote the same scope. If you are buying feed rather than building a plant, use the feed supply request instead.

Choose the right request

Two different requests, two different supplier pools. Buying feed is not the same as building a plant — pick the one that matches your project so the questions and the shortlist stay relevant.

Feed supply for farms and integrators

Compound feed, concentrates, ingredients, premixes and authorised additives — by species, production stage, volume and destination.

FeedMatch Group works on commercial requirements with an expected annual contract value or project budget from USD 250,000. We are supplier-neutral: we do not manufacture, formulate, trade, certify, engineer or lend.

Preferred delivery model *

How do you want the project delivered? For a true turnkey project, the quality of the match matters more than the number of quotes: FeedMatch aims to match the project with one to three qualified manufacturers or EPC integrators based on technical fit, scope and execution capability. FeedMatch does not engineer, build, install or commission the plant itself.

1. Company & contact

2. Site

3. Products & capacity

Mash, pellets, floating aquafeed, shrimp feed and premix are not produced on the same line configuration — select every product the plant must make.

4. Process scope

5. Utilities, automation & service

6. Budget, timeline & consent

Attach site plans, layouts, drawings, specifications, recipes or feasibility studies. PDF, Word, Excel, images, DWG/DXF or ZIP — up to 8 files, 8 MB each. Files are security-scanned, kept private and shared with manufacturers only after human review.

A project RFQ is not sent to manufacturers until these are completed: Capacity (t/h), Annual output, Species, Feed form, Reference recipe, Raw materials, Utilities, Battery limits, Automation, Site, Budget, Installation, Commissioning, Target date.

This readiness view is a preparation aid produced from the information you entered. It is not a credit assessment, a nutritional or veterinary opinion, an engineering assessment, or a commitment that suppliers, prices, financing or delivery dates will be available.

Location-specific RFQ notes: Nigeria, Brazil, Indonesia

The same feed mill scope produces different quotations depending on where the plant is built. These notes cover the details buyers in Nigeria, Brazil and Indonesia most often leave out of an RFQ, which is what makes offers impossible to compare.

Nigeria

Feed mill RFQs in Nigeria usually turn on three things: the raw material basket the mill will actually run, the power supply the plant can rely on, and how imported equipment reaches site and clears customs. Quotations become comparable once those are fixed in the specification rather than left to each supplier's assumption.

Define in the RFQ

  • · State the raw material basket you will actually mill — locally sourced grains and by-products behave differently in grinding and conditioning than imported meals, and this drives equipment selection.
  • · Describe the site power situation explicitly: grid availability, generator capacity and whether the supplier must quote soft starters, power factor correction or a hybrid arrangement.
  • · Name the port of entry and who is responsible for clearance, inland haulage and offloading, so scope is not silently split between supplier and buyer.
  • · Specify who supervises erection and who provides the local civil and electrical crews, including expatriate supervision duration.
  • · Say whether spares, wear parts and consumables must be quoted with the plant or sourced later, given import lead times.

Country pages

Brazil

Brazilian feed mill projects are usually shaped by integrator relationships, locally available grain and the choice between imported process equipment and domestic fabrication. An RFQ that fixes the process route and the scope split between imported core equipment and local supply produces far more comparable offers.

Define in the RFQ

  • · State whether the mill serves your own operation, an integrator contract or third-party customers — the batching, traceability and reporting scope differ.
  • · Be explicit about the split between imported process equipment and locally fabricated structures, silos, platforms and piping.
  • · Define the recipe range and number of micro-ingredients up front; this, not throughput alone, drives dosing and batching design.
  • · State the automation and traceability level required for your customers' audits rather than asking suppliers to propose something suitable.
  • · Include local installation standards, electrical norms and documentation language in the RFQ so commissioning is not delayed.

Country pages

Indonesia

Indonesian projects frequently combine poultry feed with aquafeed, which means extrusion, drying and coating scope must be decided before quotations are requested. Island logistics, imported protein meals and site access are the details that most often change installed cost.

Define in the RFQ

  • · Separate poultry pellet lines from extruded aquafeed scope clearly — floating aquafeed, sinking feed and shrimp feed are not the same line configuration.
  • · State site access constraints: port of discharge, road or barge transport, crane availability and any module size limits.
  • · Declare which raw materials are imported and which are local, including storage and drying requirements tied to humidity.
  • · Specify certification, documentation and audit requirements your customers impose, including any religious or export-market requirements.
  • · Define after-sales expectations: local service presence, spare parts holding and response time.

These notes describe questions to ask, not market data. Rates, tenors, duties, lead times and equipment prices vary by project and must be confirmed with suppliers, freight agents, customs advisors and your bank.

Local focus: United Kingdom and Spain

FeedMatch works with commercial feed producers internationally, and two European markets come up constantly in project requests: the United Kingdom and Spain. The engineering is the same everywhere; the procurement basis is not. Below is what changes in each market before you request quotations.

Commercial feed-mill projects in the United Kingdom

UK buyers are usually working with an existing site, an established customer base and an assurance scheme, so the requirement is as much about installation, service and compliance documentation as it is about the machinery.

  • Scope the line against UK feed-business registration and the assurance scheme your customers audit against (for example UFAS or FEMAS) before equipment is selected — sampling points, segregation and cleaning access are design decisions, not add-ons.
  • Quote in a single currency and state the delivery basis explicitly: post-Brexit imports of EU-built process equipment carry customs clearance, documentation and inland haulage that global datasheets never include.
  • Confirm electrical scope against UK site supply, plus CE/UKCA marking, machinery documentation and lifting or access requirements for the building you actually have.
  • Ask every supplier for named UK service capability and spare-part lead time — an offer that only has continental service is a different offer, whatever the price says.

Proyectos de plantas de piensos en España

Spain is one of Europe's largest compound-feed producers, with dense pig, poultry, cattle and aquaculture demand. Regional authority, site conditions, energy cost and Spanish-language service and documentation shape the scope more than the equipment brand does.

  • Spanish feed manufacturing is concentrated in strong livestock regions such as Catalonia, Aragón, Castilla y León, Murcia and Andalusia, and the receiving site's building, access and utilities usually shape the layout more than the machine list does.
  • Registration as a feed business is handled through the competent authority of the autonomous community, and customer-facing assurance (for example GMP+ or a sector scheme) affects sampling, segregation and documentation — decide this before the line is configured.
  • Intra-EU supply avoids customs clearance but not the rest: state Incoterms, installation, commissioning, translation of manuals and operator training in Spanish in the quotation scope.
  • Require CE marking, documentation in Spanish and a named Spanish-speaking service contact with realistic spare-part lead time to the region.

FeedMatch Group is an independent procurement platform, not a manufacturer, installer or regulatory adviser. Registration, assurance and compliance obligations must be confirmed with the competent authority in your country. Every feed project request is reviewed manually by David / FeedMatch Group, and supplier introductions are made only after internal approval.
