What 'feed grade' actually commits a supplier to

Feed grade is not a single standard. It means the material is intended for animal feed and meets the buyer's stated specification plus the destination country's contaminant and additive rules. A quotable feed-grade line always names purity or assay, moisture, particle size where relevant, contaminant limits, packaging and the certificate set that must travel with the shipment.

Is feed grade the same as technical grade?

No. Technical grade carries no feed-safety commitment. Feed grade must satisfy feed legislation in the destination market, which typically means tighter heavy-metal, dioxin and microbiological limits plus a certificate of analysis per lot.

Who verifies the specification on arrival?

The buyer's incoming QC or an appointed independent inspector. Agree sampling method, test method and tolerance in the contract, not after discharge.
