Feed and ingredient purchases are normally financed with six instruments: export credit guaranteed by a government agency, short-term trade finance, letters of credit at sight or deferred, supplier credit, financing against stock and receivables, and public or development-bank programs. Performance vs prescriptive specs

Prescriptive specs name brands and models. Performance specs state the outcome (e.g. 'sustain 32°C internal at 42°C ambient'). Performance specs invite better competition; prescriptive specs are only right when standardizing across an existing farm.
