How do I know whether my feeding infrastructure can support farm expansion?
Convert the target scale into peak tonnes of feed per day, then test each link in the chain against that number rather than against today's: receiving and unloading rate, storage tonnage and compartment count, conveying, distribution to each unit, dispensing capacity, control and monitoring, and backup. Expansion usually runs into the intake rate, the storage buffer or the distribution window before it runs into the feeders.
