- What is feed matching?
- Feed matching is converting a buyer's animal feed requirement into a structured RFQ and comparing supplier offers on identical terms. The requirement covers species, production stage, monthly tonnage, nutritional specification, packaging, destination port or farm and Incoterm. FeedMatch Group performs this supplier-neutrally for finished feed, feed ingredients and feed mill projects.
- How does FeedMatch match a feed buyer to suppliers?
- FeedMatch first structures the requirement, then issues one standardized RFQ to suppliers capable of that specification, volume and destination, and finally normalizes the returned offers into a landed-cost comparison. FeedMatch does not sell feed, does not take supplier commissions for placement, and does not auto-match by keyword — the requirement drives the shortlist.
- Who should use FeedMatch feed matching?
- Commercial farms, integrators, feed mills, aquaculture producers, distributors, EPCs and government or NGO buyers purchasing finished feed, feed ingredients or feed production equipment, generally above USD 250,000 per project or annual contract. It is not suitable for retail pet food, single-bag orders or consumer purchases.
- What information is needed to start feed matching?
- Species and production stage, monthly or annual tonnage, target specification or nutritional constraints, destination country and delivery point, packaging format, required Incoterm, target start date and budget range. Missing values can be estimated with the FeedMatch calculators before the RFQ is issued, then confirmed with the buyer.
- Does feed matching cost the buyer anything?
- Structuring the requirement, using the calculators and submitting an RFQ are free for buyers. FeedMatch is a procurement support layer, not a feed manufacturer, nutrition authority, veterinary service, bank or lender. Financing introductions, when relevant, are introductions only — credit decisions rest with the financing institution.
- How long does feed matching take?
- A structured RFQ is usually ready the same day once the requirement data is complete. Supplier responses for finished feed and ingredients typically arrive within three to ten business days; feed mill and equipment projects take longer because layout, capacity and scope have to be confirmed before suppliers can price the work.
- How is feed matching different from a marketplace or directory?
- A marketplace lists suppliers and leaves comparison to the buyer. Feed matching starts from the buyer's requirement, sends one identical RFQ to suppliers that can actually meet it, and returns offers normalized to landed cost and specification compliance, so differences reflect commercial reality rather than listing quality or advertising spend.
