What is a commercial feed mill project?
A commercial feed mill project is the design, procurement and installation of a plant that converts raw materials into finished animal feed at industrial volume — typically from a few tonnes per hour upward, with defined recipes, quality records and continuous operation.
It is a project, not a product purchase. Equipment is only one line in a scope that also includes raw material intake and storage, grinding, batching, mixing, thermal processing, cooling, packing, automation, civil works, utilities and commissioning.
FeedMatch focuses on commercial projects of USD 250,000 and above. Hobby mixing, backyard pelletisers and micro-scale units are out of scope.

Feed mill CAPEX depends on feed type, target capacity, raw material handling, grinding, batching, mixing, pelleting or extrusion, drying, cooling, coating, packaging, automation, additive dosing, storage, laboratory needs, utilities, civil works and local regulatory requirements.

How supplier comparison works
Quotations are only comparable when the scope behind them is identical. Comparison therefore starts by restating each proposal against the same scope lines, then noting what each supplier excluded.
The comparison covers scope boundaries, capacity guarantees and test conditions, specific energy consumption, pellet durability or water stability commitments, spare parts and service coverage, local support, references and installed base, delivery terms and payment structure.
Why project owners should not contact one supplier too early
The first supplier contacted usually defines the layout, and every later quotation is then priced against that vendor's configuration rather than against the buyer's requirement. That removes genuine comparability and weakens negotiating position.
Defining the requirement first — capacity, product range, process type, utilities, automation level — keeps the project owner in control of the specification and makes supplier differences visible.
