Turnkey feed plant sourcing
How to source a turnkey feed plant: what turnkey must include, how to compare EPC and multi-supplier offers, and the buyer checkpoints from brief to commissioning.
Short answer · reviewed September 2026
How do you source a turnkey feed plant?
Turnkey feed plant sourcing means fixing the complete scope — process design, equipment, silos, civil works, utilities, erection, commissioning and performance acceptance — before comparing offers, so 'turnkey' means the same thing in every quotation. FeedMatch is an independent, supplier-neutral procurement service: a person reviews each project brief and presents comparable responses. FeedMatch is not an EPC contractor and does not build plants.
What 'turnkey' must include
Turnkey is only meaningful as a scope list. A complete turnkey offer states: process and layout design, full equipment supply, silos and storage, civil and structural works, electrical and automation, utilities (steam, compressed air, water), erection, commissioning, performance testing against an agreed capacity and quality standard, training, and documentation. Anything missing from that list is a cost that lands on the buyer later.
Single EPC vs multi-supplier
A single EPC contractor takes whole-scope responsibility, which simplifies accountability but concentrates risk in one party and one price. Splitting into packages (process line, silos, civil works, electrics) can sharpen prices and let you pick specialists, but puts interface management on you. Compare both structures on the same total scope, including the coordination work each structure leaves with the buyer.
Buyer checkpoints from brief to commissioning
- Fixed brief: capacity in t/h, species and feed forms, site and utilities, standards required
- Like-for-like quotations against the same scope list, with exclusions made explicit
- Reference checks: comparable plants delivered, visitable if possible
- Contract with performance acceptance criteria, not just equipment delivery
- Commissioning and test-run plan with named responsibilities
- Spare parts, service and training commitments in writing
Where FeedMatch fits
FeedMatch structures your project brief, collects responses from its supplier network, normalises them to the same scope, and presents them for your decision. A person reviews every brief before any introduction. FeedMatch does not manufacture, install or finance equipment, and publishes no price benchmarks — every figure in a comparison comes from the suppliers' own offers.

FeedMatch Group is an independent animal feed project sourcing and RFQ platform. Supplier and project partner outreach is handled only after a commercial project brief is reviewed.
