Common questions
How is feed mill CAPEX calculated?
Installed CAPEX is the process line (nameplate t/h at your budget rate, adjusted for automation) plus storage tonnage, land and civil works, utilities, freight and duties, erection and commissioning, engineering and permits, commissioning spares and a contingency. This calculator sums exactly those lines from the figures you enter.
Does the species change the cost?
It changes the process route and the equipment scope. Floating aquafeed and pet food need extrusion, drying and coating; poultry and swine feed are usually pelleted; cattle feed is often mash and mineral blending. The route drives the equipment scope, the energy demand and therefore the investment per t/h.
How does location affect the estimate?
Location affects locally executed work: civil works, utilities, erection labour, inbound freight and import duties. The local cost factor scales those lines only — never the supplier's equipment rate. FeedMatch publishes no country cost indices, so the factor is yours to set.
Does FeedMatch publish equipment prices?
No. FeedMatch Group is an independent, supplier-neutral procurement platform. It does not manufacture, install or finance equipment and publishes no price benchmarks. Every monetary figure here is entered by the buyer, and every request is reviewed by a person before any introduction is made.
