Short answer

Normalise poultry mill proposals on the product mix first: the share of mash, pellet and crumble, and the smallest pellet diameter each line must produce at rated capacity. Then align grinding configuration and screen set, conditioning retention time and steam demand, pelleting die specification, cooling duty, crumbling and fines return, sieving, automation depth and bagging or bulk loadout. Compare expected tonnes per hour on your broiler or layer recipe rather than nominal capacity, add energy per tonne and wear-part cost, and adjust CAPEX for every excluded scope line before ranking.

Which product should define the design case in a poultry mill?
Usually the smallest-diameter product produced at volume — commonly the starter crumble — because it sets the binding throughput and the crumbling and sieving duty, not the highest-volume finisher.
How much does mash versus pellet share change the plant?
Substantially. A high mash share reduces conditioning, pelleting, cooling and crumbling duty and lowers energy per tonne, while a high pellet and crumble share drives CAPEX and wear-part cost. State the shares before requesting quotations.
