Corn (Maize) Procurement Checklist
Corn is bought on moisture, soundness and mycotoxin risk far more than on crude protein. Work through this checklist before the RFQ and again before signing.
Short answer: For feed-grade corn, specify moisture and the drying basis, test weight, broken kernels and foreign material, damaged and heat-damaged grain, mycotoxin limits with the sampling plan and laboratory, GMO status where it matters for your market, fumigation and phytosanitary documents, the Incoterm and discharge terms, and whether weight and quality are final at load port or at discharge.
