Tunnel needs house length ≥ 90 m for effective wind-chill, width 12–18 m for airflow, ceiling height ≥ 2.4 m. Houses < 80 m long convert poorly — better to consider cross ventilation or full rebuild. Test uniformity of cross-section along the length; broken profiles kill airflow.
Structural readiness
Gable-end walls must carry 8–14 fan cutouts without collapse. Roof and columns must accept new insulation panels. Foundations must accept new evap-cooling pad footings on the opposite gable. Structural audit is a $2–5k engineering line item — do it before any equipment order.
Electrical capacity
