Brazil is the world's largest chicken-meat exporter and one of its largest swine and beef producers, so feed milling here is an industrial-scale, margin-driven activity. The market is regionally concentrated in Paraná, Santa Catarina, Mato Grosso, Goiás and Minas Gerais. Energy
- Grinding and pelleting together usually account for the majority of a Brazilian mill's electricity draw; conditioning steam adds thermal cost on top.
- Ask every supplier for guaranteed kWh per tonne by section (grinding, mixing, conditioning, pelleting, cooling, conveying) at a defined formulation and moisture — not a plant average.
- Tropical ambient temperature reduces cooler performance versus temperate design data. Confirm the cooler is sized for local conditions.
Storage and silos
- Maize and soybean meal are domestic, so storage is driven by harvest seasonality and truck logistics rather than vessel arrivals.
- Mato Grosso and Goiás sites typically hold more cover than southern sites because of road distance and rainy-season disruption.
