Feed and ingredient landed cost comparison

Short answer

To compare feed or ingredient offers, convert each one to landed cost per tonne at your mill gate, then rescale it to one declared specification basis. Offers quoted on different Incoterms or different specifications describe different products, not different prices.

Enter up to three offers. The tool adds the delivery costs you supply, expresses every offer on the same delivered basis, adjusts for the specification each supplier declared, and lists the information still missing from each offer. It deliberately does not name a winner.

This tool arithmetically normalises the figures you enter using explicit assumptions. It does not verify supplier claims, does not rank suppliers and never recommends the cheapest offer. FeedMatch does not sell feed, ingredients or additives and gives no price, quality or delivery guarantee.

Questions buyers ask

What is landed cost per tonne for feed ingredients?
Landed cost per tonne is the offer price plus every cost required to place the material at your mill gate: freight, insurance, port and terminal charges, duties, inland transport, packaging and handling or financing costs. Two offers quoted on different Incoterms are not comparable until both are expressed on the same landed basis.
Why do offers on different Incoterms look cheaper than they are?
An Incoterm defines where the seller's cost and risk stop. EXW and FOB prices exclude costs that a DAP or DDP price already contains, so the lower headline number may simply describe a smaller scope. Convert every offer to the same delivered destination before comparing.
How do I compare offers with different protein or energy specifications?
Rescale the landed cost pro rata against a declared specification basis, for example landed cost per tonne at 46% protein. This shows what you pay per unit of the parameter you buy. It does not confirm that the alternative specification performs the same in your formulation, which is a nutritional judgement for your formulator.
Does this tool tell me which supplier to buy from?
No. It normalises the figures you enter and highlights missing information. It does not verify supplier claims, does not rank suppliers and never recommends the lowest price. Supply reliability, documentation, traceability, payment terms and contamination controls all belong in the decision.
What information should I request before comparing offers?
Ask each supplier for the Incoterm and named destination, full specification with test methods, moisture basis, packaging, MOQ and lot size, lead time from order to shipment, offer validity, payment terms and the certificates and documents supplied with each shipment.
