Rapeseed and canola meal
Lower lysine than soy but higher methionine and cost-competitive in Europe and Canada. Glucosinolate limits apply.
Sunflower and cottonseed meal
Regional workhorses. Cottonseed carries free gossypol limits; sunflower is fiber-rich and best in ruminant and layer diets.
DDGS
Distillers dried grains with solubles — a co-product with variable protein, energy and mycotoxin risk. Requires supplier verification every lot.
Fishmeal and marine proteins
Highest digestibility and palatability, but IFFO-RS certification and traceability are non-negotiable in enterprise procurement.
Insect meal and single-cell protein
Emerging alternatives with strong sustainability metrics. Validate regulatory approval in the destination market before contracting.
