Short answer · reviewed August 2026

What is Choline Chloride 60% Feed Grade?

Choline chloride 60% feed grade is choline chloride adsorbed onto a carrier — usually corn cob or silica — to a nominal 60% choline chloride content, equivalent to about 44.6% choline. It is typically dosed at 0.5–2.0 kg per tonne of finished feed. Because the carrier changes flowability, hygroscopicity and vitamin compatibility in a premix, a comparable offer must state assay, carrier type, moisture and packaging, not only the 60% figure.

Documents a compliant offer must carry

  • Certificate of Analysis (CoA) per batch
The only document that ties the delivered lot to the specification you contracted.
  • GMP+ B2, FAMI-QS or equivalent feed-safety certification
Required by most EU and Gulf buyers and by many mills' own HACCP plans.
  • Certificate of Origin
Drives duty treatment and, in several markets, import permit eligibility.
  • Heavy-metal and dioxin/PCB statement or test report
Feed-safety limits are enforced at import; a missing report stops the container.
  • Packing list with lot numbers and production date
Lets you trace a claim to a specific lot and check remaining shelf life on arrival.

Packaging, Incoterms and container maths

Packaging
25 kg paper bag with PE liner · 500–750 kg big bag · Moisture-barrier liner mandatory
Common Incoterms
FOB · CFR · CIF · DAP
Minimum order
One pallet from traders; producers usually quote from one container
Container loading
20 ft ≈ 16–20 t depending on carrier and bulk density (volume-limited on corn cob)
Lead time
Ex-stock 1–2 weeks; direct producer 4–8 weeks plus sailing
Shelf life and storage
12–24 months depending on carrier; corn cob is shorter in humid climates

Choline chloride is strongly hygroscopic and degrades vitamins it sits next to — buy it separately from the vitamin premix unless the supplier can document compatibility, and confirm the liner specification in writing.

Who produces it

FeedMatch Group is independent and does not represent any producer. The landscape below is descriptive, not a ranking.

  • Large Asian producers
Supply most of the internationally traded 60% material, mainly on corn cob carrier.
  • Regional blenders
Adsorb imported 70–75% liquid onto a local carrier; can be shorter lead time but carrier quality varies more.
  • Liquid choline suppliers
Sell 70–75% liquid for mills equipped to dose liquids, avoiding the carrier cost entirely.

Frequently asked

Corn cob or silica carrier — which should I specify?
Silica flows better, carries less moisture and stores better in humid climates; corn cob is usually cheaper and is the default in internationally traded material. Name the carrier in the RFQ so offers are comparable.
How does 60% choline chloride compare with 70–75% liquid?
Liquid avoids the carrier and is cheaper per unit of choline, but it needs liquid dosing equipment and dedicated storage. Compare on cost per kilogram of choline plus the handling capability you actually have.
Can choline chloride be included in the vitamin premix?
It is generally avoided. Choline chloride is hygroscopic and accelerates the degradation of several vitamins in a shared premix, so most mills dose it separately.
