How to choose a premix supplier
Short answer
Evaluate premix suppliers on formulation transparency, manufacturing control and supply reliability rather than on price per kilogram. Require a declared composition with overages stated, the carrier used, particle-size and stability data, and the analytical methods that verify actives on arrival. Check certification (GMP+, FAMI-QS, ISO 22000 as applicable), batch traceability, contamination control between medicated and non-medicated production, and the dosing accuracy your plant can achieve at the intended inclusion rate. Then compare on delivered cost per tonne of finished feed at your inclusion rate — not on the premix price itself.

How do I compare premix offers?
Restate every offer as delivered cost per tonne of finished feed at your inclusion rate, on one declared composition basis. Then compare stability, certification of the producing site, traceability, lead-time reliability and technical support. A cheaper premix at a different active level is a different product.
Should I buy premix locally or import it?
It depends on lead time, registration of actives, climate-related stability and landed cost. Local supply shortens lead time and simplifies documentation; imported supply may offer broader formulation options. Compare on landed cost per tonne of finished feed and on supply reliability, not on origin.
