Start with your toxin profile, not the product brochure

Test your incoming raw materials — maize, DDGS, wheat, by-products — for the toxins that actually occur in your origins and season: aflatoxin B1, deoxynivalenol, zearalenone, fumonisins, ochratoxin A and T-2. The result determines the technology. Adsorbent clays are effective against aflatoxin and, to a degree, ergot alkaloids; polar trichothecenes are poorly adsorbed and are addressed by biotransformation enzymes or specific microbial strains; yeast cell wall products act broadly but with a different efficacy profile.
