Material and processing

Compositional signature, processing route, typical variability between lots and seasonal effects. Request certificates from several past lots rather than a single flattering sample, and check whether the variability is compatible with your formulation tolerance.

Route and infrastructure

Inland transport quality, port congestion, available shipping modes, transit time and climate exposure in transit. A long humid transit changes the moisture and packaging specification you need to write.

Regulatory and documentation environment

Which certificates are issued locally, which authority issues them, how long they take and whether they are accepted by your import authority. This is where new-origin projects most often stall.
