Pellet line
Definition
A pellet line is the group of machines that turns mixed mash into pellets: conditioner, pellet mill, cooler, crumbler and screener. Steam conditioning is normally part of the line.
Why it matters
The pellet line usually sets the plant's rated capacity and its largest single power demand.
When it affects procurement
When matching mixer batch output, boiler steam and cooler air capacity to the pellet mill rating.
Example
An 8 t/h poultry pellet line with 3 and 4 mm dies and a counterflow cooler.
