In-country inventory
Verify supplier's in-country distributor holds physical stock — not just a catalog. Best case: supplier owns local warehouse. Common case: authorised distributor with sample stock and same-day dispatch. Worst case: everything ships from HQ. Match to your acceptable downtime.
Air-freight vs sea-freight economics
Critical spare via air-freight: $200–800 in freight, 3–7 days delivery. Same via sea: $30–100 freight, 30–60 days delivery. For mission-critical items, air-freight is the only rational choice — build the SLA around it.
Obsolescence policy
