Catalog collection

Premium and specialty feed, additives and mill lines

Premium here means a higher evidence burden, not a quality promise: tighter specifications with test methods, destination authorisation, third-party feed-safety certification scope, stability data for your process, and performance claims backed by disclosed trials. Ask for each before comparing price.

These product types cost more and carry claims that are hard to compare. Each entry lists the evidence to request so offers can be compared on the same basis. FeedMatch does not rank products or promise animal performance; all claims stay attributed to the supplier's documents.

Rules reviewed 25 October 2026 against the official texts listed below.

Selection criteria for this collection

  1. 1. Specification with test methods

Guaranteed values and tolerances per batch, with the analytical method for each, so two offers can be compared like for like.

  2. 2. Authorised in the destination

Additives must be authorised for the species and use where the feed will be used — in the EU under Regulation 1831/2003 and listed in the EU Register of feed additives; other markets keep their own registers.

  3. 3. Certification scope that covers the product

Where the supplier holds a feed-safety certificate (for example GMP+ or FAMI-QS), its scope must cover this product and site. Certification is a supplier claim until the certificate is shared.

  4. 4. Stability for your process

Heat, pelleting or extrusion stability data for enzymes, probiotics and vitamins, measured on stated conditions, then checked against your own process.

  5. 5. Claims backed by disclosed trials

Any efficiency or health claim comes with the trial design, species, dose and who ran it. No guaranteed outcomes, and no veterinary advice.

  6. 6. Measured performance for equipment

Throughput and energy use rated on your formula with the test basis stated, and written into the contract, not just the brochure.

Feed inputs

Specialty starter feeds and aquafeeds

Standard or specification
Stage-specific specifications (e.g. piglet pre-starter, fry or shrimp starter crumbles) with particle size, water stability or floatability stated and tested.
Best fit for
Integrators, hatcheries and farms where early-stage feed is a small share of volume but a large share of risk.
Commercial benefit
Comparable specifications let you test a second source without changing your nutrition programme.
Risks to check
Specifications that change between lots; water stability claims measured on undisclosed methods.
Limitations
FeedMatch does not set nutrient targets; they come from your nutritionist. Outcomes depend on farm conditions.
Regulatory note
Medicated or therapeutic-level ingredients follow veterinary rules and are outside this collection.
How to compare
Compare cost per kg of animal produced in your own trial, not price per tonne.
Price
No published price range was researched for this group. Offers are compared on your specification.

Documents to request

  • Stage specification with test methods
  • Pellet or crumble size and water-stability method
  • Certificate of analysis per lot
  • Shelf life and storage conditions

Feed inputs

Functional premixes

Standard or specification
Declared composition, active content per kg, carrier and homogeneity, with authorisation for each additive in the destination.
Best fit for
Mills and integrators buying customer-specific or functional premixes rather than standard vitamin-mineral packs.
Commercial benefit
A full declaration lets you compare cost per unit of active rather than per tonne of premix.
Risks to check
Undeclared reformulation, overages used to hide instability, carriers that change flowability.
Limitations
Functional claims belong to the supplier; FeedMatch reports them as claims with their evidence.
Regulatory note
In the EU, each additive must be authorised and used within its conditions of use.
How to compare
Compare cost per unit of each active and stability data, not headline price.
Price
No published price range was researched for this group. Offers are compared on your specification.

Feed inputs

Feed enzymes

Standard or specification
Activity in stated units per gram with the assay method, recommended dose and heat-stability data for pelleting conditions.
Best fit for
Mills using phytase, carbohydrases or proteases to reformulate around ingredient cost and phosphorus.
Commercial benefit
Like-for-like activity data shows the real cost per unit of activity delivered after pelleting.
Risks to check
Activity units from different assays are not comparable; heat losses at your conditioning temperature.
Limitations
Matrix values used in formulation are supplier recommendations; validate them with your nutritionist.
Regulatory note
Enzymes are feed additives: authorisation is species- and use-specific in the EU register.
How to compare
Compare cost per unit of activity recovered after your pelleting conditions.
Price
No published price range was researched for this group. Offers are compared on your specification.

Documents to request

  • Activity and assay method
  • Heat-stability data with test conditions
  • Authorisation for species and use

Feed inputs

Probiotics, acidifiers and mycotoxin products

Standard or specification
Strain identity and count (probiotics), active acid content (acidifiers), or the authorised function and dose (mycotoxin products).
Best fit for
Producers reducing reliance on in-feed antibiotics or managing variable ingredient quality.
Commercial benefit
Structured comparison separates authorised functions from marketing claims.
Risks to check
Claims beyond the authorised function; strain counts that fall during storage or pelleting.
Limitations
These products support management; they do not replace veterinary care, and results vary by farm.
Regulatory note
Only claims within the product's authorisation may be made in the destination market.
How to compare
Compare authorised function, dose and stability, then cost per tonne of finished feed.
Price
No published price range was researched for this group. Offers are compared on your specification.

Documents to request

  • Count or content with method
  • Stability through storage and pelleting
  • Authorisation and conditions of use

Feed inputs

Alternative proteins

Standard or specification
Protein, fat and ash per lot, production process, and authorisation for the species in the destination.
Best fit for
Aquafeed, poultry and pet-food producers diversifying away from fish meal or soy.
Commercial benefit
Reduces dependence on one protein source when supply and authorisation allow.
Risks to check
Announced plant capacity is not the same as delivered supply; ask for delivered volume history.
Limitations
Authorisation differs by species and country. In the EU, insect protein was allowed in aquafeed from 2017 and in pig and poultry feed from 2021.
Regulatory note
Check animal-protein rules and species authorisation per destination before ordering.
How to compare
Compare cost per unit of digestible protein against fish meal and soybean meal.
Price
No published price range was researched for this group. Offers are compared on your specification.

Equipment

High-efficiency feed lines

Standard or specification
Rated throughput and specific energy use (kWh per tonne) on your formula, with the test basis, plus dosing accuracy for micro-ingredients.
Best fit for
New mills and upgrades where energy, steam and labour are a large part of conversion cost.
Commercial benefit
Contracted performance figures let you compare total cost of ownership rather than purchase price.
Risks to check
Figures measured on easy formulas; 'self-learning' control claims made only by the equipment maker.
Limitations
We found no independent evidence of fully automatic, AI-run mills at commercial scale. Plant and equipment projects start from about USD 250,000.
Regulatory note
Machinery and electrical conformity rules of the installation country apply.
How to compare
Compare guaranteed kWh per tonne and availability over a stated period.
Price
No published price range was researched for this group. Offers are compared on your specification.

How to read this catalog. Each entry is a product type FeedMatch sources for commercial buyers, with an independent buying guide. It is not a listing of stock, prices or supplier offers. Nutrition values, formulations, origins, certifications and availability are shown only when a supplier has documented them, and stay labelled as supplier-declared until checked against the documents. FeedMatch is a sourcing intermediary — it does not manufacture, sell or export feed or equipment, and gives no veterinary or nutritional advice; ask your nutritionist or veterinarian about suitability.

Feed and ingredient requests have no minimum; assisted sourcing for plant and equipment projects applies from about USD 250,000. Requests go to the FeedMatch team, who contact suppliers and present responses — buyers and suppliers are not put in direct contact.

Availability and the ability to trade depend on the applicable law and on the licences and approvals required, which differ by product and country. Each participant is responsible for the rules that apply to its own role: suppliers for the products they offer and supply, buyers for their own import permissions and checks. FeedMatch is not a manufacturer, importer, exporter, seller or regulatory approver; it facilitates sourcing and screens requests before any supplier is contacted. Regulation & responsibilities.
