It converts your flock population or planned annual tonnage into the mill capacity you actually need: net tonnes per hour after utilisation and downtime, batch cycles per hour, pellet mill duty on the pelleted share, raw material and finished feed storage days, and bagging or bulk outloading capacity.

Why is nameplate capacity different from what I need?

Nameplate tonnes per hour is measured on a reference formula in ideal conditions. Real plants lose throughput to changeovers, cleaning, maintenance, formula density and pellet die restriction. Sizing on nameplate is the most common reason a new mill runs short within two years.

How many storage days should a poultry mill hold?

It depends on raw material lead time, port logistics and harvest seasonality rather than a universal rule. Buyers on imported corn and soybean meal usually plan longer raw-material cover than buyers with local year-round supply. The calculator lets you test the number of days you can finance.

Is the output an engineering design?

No. It is indicative planning output used to define a requirement before suppliers are approached. Final capacity, layout and equipment selection require supplier engineering and a site survey.
