Shrimp feed production requirements before you choose equipment
Shrimp feed is defined by water stability and particle fineness. Because shrimp feed slowly, pellets must hold together in water far longer than fish feed, which demands very fine grinding, controlled binding, tight moisture management and, depending on the product strategy, either high-quality steam pelleting or extrusion. Diameters are small, which reduces throughput; sinking density is required; and post-process handling must limit fines. Specify water-stability duration and its test method, grinding fineness, diameter range, density and durability in the RFQ, because these — not headline TPH — determine what equipment is suitable.
Shrimp feed is one of the least forgiving products in the industry, and equipment selected on generic aquafeed assumptions frequently underdelivers on stability and fines.
