Feed and feed-mill tender bids — requirements, documents and supplier quotations.
Government, development-bank and NGO procurement for animal feed, ingredients and processing plant follows written rules. These guides set out what the bid file must contain in each market, give you a working document checklist, and hand the technical scope to a supplier-neutral RFQ that returns comparable manufacturer offers.
Short answer · reviewed August 2026
What does an institutional feed tender bid have to contain?
Three envelopes: administrative (registration, tax documents, power of attorney, non-debarment declaration, bid security usually 1–2% of bid value), technical (clause-by-clause specification compliance, manufacturer datasheets or product analysis certificates, 3–5 years of similar-contract experience, delivery and after-sales plan) and financial (audited accounts, the tender's own priced schedule, the specified Incoterm, bid validity of typically 90–120 days). Bids are screened on the administrative envelope first, so most losses are compliance failures rather than price or technical failures.
Common institutional bid parameters
| Metric | Value | Unit | Basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bid security | 1–2 | % of bid value | Bank guarantee or accepted declaration |

| Bid validity | 90–120 | days | Standard bidding documents |
| Experience lookback | 3–5 | years | Similar contracts of comparable value |
| Notice to submission | 4–8 | weeks | Typical goods contract timeline |
| Supplier quotation lead time | 1–3 | weeks | To obtain comparable, binding manufacturer offers |
