Why every FeedMatch service is free for buyers — and what our interest actually is.

Buyers routinely ask how a free service can be impartial. It is a fair question, and the answer should be boring and verifiable rather than clever. Below is exactly how we are paid, who pays us, what we will never do, and why our incentives point in the same direction as yours.

Zero cost to the buyer

Specification, sourcing, vetting, offer comparison, logistics support and financing introductions — all free, with no success fee and no commission taken from you.

Paid by the supply side

Manufacturers and financing partners compensate us for qualified, fully specified demand — the standard model in industrial B2B sourcing.

No pay-to-rank, ever

Shortlists are built on technical fit, certifications, capacity and regional track record. No supplier can buy a better position.

One aligned interest

We are paid only when a project concludes successfully — so the only outcome that works for us is the one that works for you.

The short version

You describe a requirement. A human feed expert turns it into a professional specification. We source and vet the manufacturers genuinely capable of delivering it, normalise their offers so they are comparable line by line, and — where useful — structure financing for the deal and the shipment. You pay us nothing at any point. Manufacturers and financing partners pay for qualified demand once a project concludes.

Frequently asked questions

Is FeedMatch really 100% free for buyers?
Yes. Every service we provide to buyers is free, end to end: defining your requirement, writing the technical specification, sourcing and vetting manufacturers, collecting and normalising offers, arranging inspection and logistics support, and introducing financing options. There is no subscription, no success fee, no commission and no hidden mark-up added to the price you are quoted.
How does FeedMatch make money if buyers pay nothing?
We are compensated by the supply side and by financing partners once a deal is successfully concluded — the same way a professional sourcing agent or trade intermediary is paid in industrial B2B. Manufacturers pay for qualified, fully specified demand that reaches them ready to quote, because it is far cheaper than trade fairs, cold outreach and unqualified enquiries. That compensation is built into the manufacturer's normal commercial structure, not added on top of your price.
So what is your actual interest in my project?
One interest only: that you receive the best possible solution from the best-fitting manufacturers, and that the deal closes and performs. We are only paid when a project is concluded, and repeat business and referrals depend entirely on the outcome being right. A mismatched supplier, an over-specified plant or a failed commissioning costs us far more than it earns.
Do manufacturers pay to rank higher or be recommended first?
No. There is no pay-to-rank, no sponsored placement and no paid priority in our shortlists. Suppliers are matched on technical fit, capacity, certifications (GMP+, ISO 22000, FAMI-QS where relevant), delivery terms, references in your region and after-sales capability. If the best fit for your project is a manufacturer we earn less from, that is still the one you get.
Will the price be higher because you are involved?
In practice, the opposite is typical. You receive competing offers from multiple qualified manufacturers on an identical specification, which makes them directly comparable and creates genuine price tension. Buyers who approach a single manufacturer alone usually have no comparison basis at all.
Am I obliged to buy through you?
No. There is no exclusivity, no lock-in and no contract required to use the service. You can take the specification, the shortlist and the comparison and act on them however you choose. We would rather earn the deal than tie you to it.
Do I get a real person, or just software?
A human feed procurement expert is assigned to your project and stays with you from the first requirement conversation through specification, supplier comparison, negotiation support, financing and delivery. Our software accelerates the sourcing and comparison; it does not replace the expert.
Is the financing also free to arrange?
Arranging and introducing financing is free. We structure the request, prepare the documentation package and introduce it to trade finance institutions, ECAs, development banks and private lenders active in your market. The lender you ultimately select sets its own interest rate and fees under its own contract with you — those are the lender's commercial terms, disclosed to you directly, and we do not add anything on top.
What information do you need before you can help?
Enough to write a credible specification: species and production stage, tonnage or capacity, site country and infrastructure, feed formulation or raw material requirement, target timeline and budget range. If you do not have all of it yet, that is exactly what the first expert conversation is for.
What do you do with my project data?
Your commercial details are shared with shortlisted manufacturers only to the extent needed to quote your project, and only after you approve the shortlist. We do not sell buyer data, and we do not broadcast your requirement to an open supplier list.

Put it to the test with a real requirement.

No fee, no obligation, no exclusivity — just a specification, a qualified shortlist and a clear comparison.
