Buyer profile FAQ
What is a feed buyer profile?
A feed buyer profile is the minimum set of facts suppliers need before they can price feed: buyer type, species, production stage, monthly tonnage, destination country and delivery point, feed type, packaging and Incoterm. FeedMatch turns that profile into one standardized RFQ sent to every shortlisted supplier.
How much volume information do suppliers need?
State monthly tonnage and whether the requirement is recurring, annual-contract, spot or tender. Annual volume determines whether a supplier can commit production capacity and what price band applies; without it, quotations are indicative only and cannot be compared reliably.
Does the destination country change the quotation?
Yes. Destination drives freight, duty, port handling, permitted ingredients, labelling and required certifications, so the same specification can differ substantially in landed cost between two markets. Always state the destination country and the delivery point before requesting prices.
Which feed type should be requested?
Choose complete pelleted, mash, crumble or extruded feed when buying finished feed; concentrate or premix when blending on-farm; raw ingredients when running an own mill. The feed type determines which suppliers can quote and how the offers must be compared.
